Alberta M. Dinant | Obituary
Alberta Mr. Dinant, 94, of Tyrone, and formerly of Houtzdale, died on Friday February 11, 2022.
She was born in Houtzdale on March 24, 1927, the daughter of the late Henry and Eva (Waite) Lindenberg. On October 14, 1944, in Houtzdale, she married Edmond F. Dinant, who predeceased her on October 4, 1994. She was survived by two daughters, Pamela (Robert) Starr, of Tyrone, and Penny Dinant, of Freeport; three grandsons, Scott (Stephanie) Dinant, Craig (Heidi) Starr and Tyler Starr; and four great-grandsons, Ryan (Rachael) Dinant, and Alexander, Reid and Shane Starr. She was predeceased by one son, Ronald E. Dinant; one brother, Ronald Lindenberg; and one sister, Maxine Laskowsky. She was the last of her immediate family.
Alberta attended Bald Eagle United Methodist Church. She retired in 1993 from Ziffs II as a manager, working at both Tyrone and Altoona sites, after 20 years of service. She previously worked at General Cigar, Philipsburg, as a supervisor for 18 years. She was also a sales consultant for Lia Sophia Jewelry and after retirement worked for many years in the DelGrosso amusement park gift shop.
Alberta was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, secretary of the A-Peek-A-Boo Travelers Camping Club, secretary of the Widow Widowers Club of Philipsburg and the Bald Eagle Women’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed camping, playing cards, dancing, participating in several activities at the Tyrone Blair Senior Center, and taking many bus trips, some of which included casinos. She loved spending time with her family and especially her grandsons and great-grandsons.
A noon funeral service for Alberta Mr. Dinant was held on Monday, February 14, 2022 at the Feller Memorial Home, with Pastor Jeff Holland officiating. Friends were received from 11 a.m. until noon service.
