Anita Joyce Phillips
May 26, 1935 – January 19, 2022
Kathleen, Georgia – Anita Joyce Phillips, devoted mother, “Nana” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and friend to many, once again held the hand of her beloved husband, Herbert Phillips, in heaven, on the morning of Wednesday, January 19, 2022. She was 86 years old.
Anita was born to the late Trammell Ray and Clara O’Dillon Aycock on May 26, 1935. She was a proud graduate of the University of Georgia and retired from public service at Robins Air Force Base as an accounting clerk. A longtime member of Warner Robins’ First United Methodist Church, Anita was devout in her faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, working on puzzles, playing the piano, and just spending time with the family she adored. Anita’s family and friends will miss her every day until they meet again.
She is survived by her loving children, Susan P. Conner (Bill) of Hawkinsville, Alan Phillips of Warner Robins and Mark Phillips of Perry; grandchildren, Ben Churcher (Amber), Eric Churcher (Leigh Ann) and Brooke Conner; and great-grandchildren, Brayden and Cole Churcher and Reagan and Emory Churcher.
Anita’s family will receive friends on Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Warner Robins First United Methodist Church. A funeral service will follow immediately at 2 p.m. at the church. Anita will be interred at the Magnolia Park Mausoleum following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests that memorial donations be made in Anita’s memory to First United Methodist Church at Warner Robins, 205 N. Davis Dr., Warner Robins, GA 31093.
For friends who cannot attend at this time, the service will be streamed live via the McCullough Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mcculloughfuneralhome/live/.
