Edward Howard Eller, Jr., 74, of Marion, North Carolina, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022, at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital.
He was born in McDowell County on September 30, 1947 to the late Edward Howard Eller, Sr. and Rena Mae Young Eller.
Edward retired from Collins & Aikman in engineering and design. He served honorably in the United States Army and was a Bronze Star recipient. He enjoyed watching sports of all kinds. Edward was a founding member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church where he was very active. Over the years, he served as church treasurer and choir member.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Norma Jean Causby Eller; and a sister-in-law, Doris Causby McCurry.
He is survived by his daughter, Nicole Biggs; his sister, Millie Brittain (Jerry); one niece, Jennifer Young (Michael); one brother-in-law, Jack Ronald “Boo” Causby; and special friends of many years, Scott and Denise Cable.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, with the Reverend Kim Clardy officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at McDowell Memorial Park.
