Glenda Downer – 79, of Fenton, passed away on Saturday October 9, 2021. The funeral will be 11:00 am on Friday October 15 at Linden Free Methodist Church 13274 S. Linden Rd., Linden with Pastor John Price officiating . Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Linden. Visitations will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 14 at Sharp, Fenton Chapel, Fenton Chapel funeral homes, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton, and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, October 15 at church. Those who wish can make contributions to the Covenant Hills Campgrounds or the Linden Free Methodist Church. Glenda was born November 4, 1941 in Mendenhall, Mississippi, daughter of Granville Hord and Roma (Rankin) Hord. She married William Downer on November 25, 1961 in Flint. Glenda retired from General Motors SPO in 2000 with 30 years of service. She was an active member of the Linden Free Methodist Church and had been their treasurer. The survivors are almost 60-year-old husband William Downer; brother, William (Debra) Hord of Swartz Creek; half-brother, Bernard (FloraMae) Bedell of Linden; half-sister, Dolores “Dody” Bedell of Linden; half-sister, Joyce (Stan) Helm of Byron; half-brother, Gerald (Carol) Bedell of Linden, step-brother, Dean Sharp of Linden. She was predeceased by her father, Granville Hord; mother, Roma Hord Bedell; stepfather, Ford Bedell; her children, Melanie and Rodney; sister, Jimmie Williams; and half-sisters, Eileen Neilson, Myrna Standridge and Annette Sharp.
