NASHVILLE, Tennessee., January 11, 2022 / PRNewswire / – HarperCollins today announced that it has acquired the rights to publish the authoritative biography of legendary businessman Ratan N. Tata, who is one of the most influential and inspiring leaders in the world. Ratan N. Tata: the authorized biography by dr Thomas Mathieu will be published worldwide by HarperCollins in all formats in November 2022.

Udayan Mitra at HarperCollins India has acquired the global rights in all languages ​​of Anish Chandy at the Labyrinth Literary Agency. The book will be published by HarperCollins India in English and major Indian languages, by HarperCollins Leadership in the United States and by Guillaume Collins UK.

Ratan Tata’s story is that of a man who overcame extraordinary hardships and whose compassion took precedence over business constraints, uniquely achieving both goals. Dr Thomas Mathieu (https://thomasmathew.com) is a retired career bureaucrat from the 1983 batch of Indian Administrative Service. Passionate about writing, he has several publications to his credit, including four books – Seeking congruence: Indo-American relations under the Obama administration (edited and contributed to its main chapter), The winged wonders of Rashtrapati Bhavan and Remains under the dome. He regularly writes opinion pieces for major dailies.

Dr Mathew holds a PhD from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, and holds a bachelor’s degree in law from Delhi University. He has held key positions in the Ministries of Finance, Defense and Industry, among others. He was then Deputy Secretary to the President of India Pranab Mukherjee.

Dr Mathew first met Ratan Tata in a professional capacity about three decades ago. They continued their interactions because of their common interests. In 2018, Dr Mathew started working on the biography of Ratan Tata.

Now retired, he sits on the board of directors of several companies and is consulted on corporate matters. He lives in Gurugram, pursuing his passion for writing, nature conservation and photography.
