Minister of Commerce announces 36th Trade Expo Indonesia
This virtual event is one form of effort and commitment made by the Ministry of Commerce to revive global trade
Jakarta (ANTARA) – Trade Minister Muhammad Lutfi announced the 36th Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI): digital edition, themed “Reviving Global Trade”, which is being held as part of efforts to accelerate national economic growth.
“This virtually organized event is one form of effort and commitment made by the Ministry of Commerce to revive world trade,” he said on Monday.
The exhibition is expected to be a breakthrough for Indonesian entrepreneurs, who can seize the opportunity to seize the momentum of the accelerating economic recovery, he added.
The international exhibition will be held virtually for 14 days from October 21 to November 4, 2021, while the product showcase will be held until December 20, 2021, he informed.
The 36th TEI is expected to drive the acceleration of digital commerce transformation, Lutfi said.
TEI’s digital edition aims to serve as an effective and efficient platform for online business transaction and promotion, strengthen partnerships and maintain business sustainability with buyers, expand penetration of new markets, create a positive image and improve the competitiveness of Indonesian products and services in the international market, added the minister.
TEI 2021 will also feature a digital catalog, which will serve as a tool for attendees and visitors to display and explore information about Indonesian products, he said.
The Indonesian products and services that will be presented at the exhibition will be divided into eight categories: manufactured products, digital lifestyle and services, medicine and health care, renewable energy, food and beverage products, living comfort and equipment, health products. fashion and beauty, and halal products, he informed.
“The TEI 2021 is ready to offer more convenience and convenience through an interactive platform in the form of an electronic catalog, much like in major international trade shows in Germany and the United Arab Emirates,” explained Lutfi.
“With this, the interactive activities between sellers and buyers can go even better,” he added.
The TEI aims to attract as many potential buyers as possible to the benefit of Indonesian exporters, Lutfi said.
In addition to the exhibition, the latest edition of TEI will feature several activities such as business forums, seminars, as well as business advice, he added.
What will differentiate the forum this year is the participation of trade ministries from partner countries such as Singapore and the Philippines, the director general of the WTO and the director general of the World Bank, the minister said.
In addition, a halal trade forum will be held and the Primaniyarta and Primaduta awards will also be presented at the exhibition, he added.
“Beyond the Halal Trade Forum, we are also working with the Indonesian Fashion Chamber to organize Muslim fashion shows and talk shows. This will be a concrete step for the government to make Indonesia the center of halal products and global Muslim fashion, ”Lutfi noted.
