The United States provides 48-hour support delivery

By Naveen KapoorNew Delhi [India], April 26 (ANI): In the next 48 hours, the United States will deliver the raw material for vaccines, oxygen concentrators, ventilators and PPE kits to India, as assured by the American adviser to the National Security (NSA) Jake Sullivan in his – a one-minute phone call with his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval on Sunday.
India sees it as one of the most tangible supports to come as the country faces an alarming increase in the number of COVID-19. Sources informed that NSA Doval lobbied for India’s demands during the talks. The supply of Remdesivir and raw material required by Serum Institute was also in the discussion.
âJust as India sent aid to the United States when our hospitals were under stress at the start of the pandemic, the United States is determined to help India in times of need. To that end, the United States United States is working tirelessly to deploy available resources and supplies. The United States has identified specific raw material sources urgently needed for Indian manufacture of the Covishield vaccine which will be immediately made available to India. United States is also exploring options to deliver oxygen and related supplies urgently, âsaid a White House statement released after the Doval-Sullivan talks.
NSA Jake Sullivan and Doval also discussed the Quad vaccine initiative in which more than a billion doses are to be produced in India.
The US Development Finance Corporation (DFC) is funding a substantial expansion of the manufacturing capacity of BioE, the vaccine maker in India, allowing BioE to grow to produce at least one billion doses of COVID-19 vaccine by end of 2022.
The United States is deploying an expert team of public health advisers from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and USAID to work closely with the United States Embassy, ââhealth departments of the India and Indian Outbreak Intelligence Service staff.
USAID will also work quickly with CDC to support and accelerate the mobilization of emergency resources available to India through the Global Fund.
US President Joe Biden also tweeted earlier today: âJust as India sent aid to the United States as our hospitals were under stress at the start of the pandemic, we are determined to help the India in time of need. ” Last year India exported 50 million tablets of hydroxychloroquine. in the United States for the fight against Covid-19.
ANI has learned that NSA Ajit Doval has also held talks with his counterparts in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is also holding a series of talks with various countries to import medicine, oxygen and tankers to tackle the deadly wave of the pandemic, efforts are being made at multiple levels of government to increase the supply chain. (ANI)
